2.3 Customising Message Styles

All error, warning, and information messages are routed through a callable database interface routine named DIFMT. This routine as initially supplied simply duplicates the default database interface routine message style. Program developers wishing to modify the message style to suit their own conventions, should write their own version of this routine and force load it in front of the database interface routine libraries when linking the user program. The reader is referred to Appendix three of this manual for more detailed information.
