Description of Board Positions
President
- Oversee the operation of all facets of the organization including events, meetings, and committees
- Serve as a conduit to the board for opportunities for events and projects that further the goals of CSA
- Set agenda for meetings of the Board and moderate discussions
- Organize elections for new Board in January/February
Vice President
- Assist the President in conducting the management and planning tasks of the organization
- Advocate for CSA at all fund-raising initiatives in conjunction with the Treasurer
Secretary
- Record and distribute minutes from all Board meetings
- Schedule and arrange meetings of the Board as directed by the President
- Manage email lists
- Act as historian for CSA
Treasurer
- Manage all financial aspects of CSA in an organized and timely fashion
- Maintain accurate records of all income and disbursements for the current Board. Be able to provide reports to the Board upon request.
- Oversee fundraising efforts such as Projects Board proposals or funding requests to departments
- Ensure that Board members are reimbursed in a timely manner
Cultural Chair
- Plan and organize speakers, dinner discussions, cultural shows, and other cultural activities
- Work in conjunction with the Social Chair
Political Chair
- Spearhead the Chinese-American Leadership Series
- Monitor local, state, and national Chinese-American campaigns and causes for CSA to advocate
Publicity Chair
- Design and produce posters, newspaper ads, and other publicity materials for CSA events
- Oversee distribution of publicity materials
Social Chair
- Spearhead CSA events that aim at promoting social interaction among the Chinese and Chinese-American community,
as well as between the Chinese community and the greater Princeton community
Special Projects Chair
- Design and lead special projects to be pursued by CSA - most recently a co-sponsorship with IMUSE (Initiating Mutual Understanding Through Student Exchange)
- Serve as interclub liaison for said projects
Past Positions
Community Outreach Chair
- Organize events and volunteer opportunities with the local Chinese and Chinese-American communities
Philanthropy Chair
- Research important charitable causes for partnerships with CSA
- Design fundraising events
Webmaster
- Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date, fast-loading, effective, and colorful website at http://www.princeton.edu/~csa.
- Work with Publicity Chair to use this site to increase the visibility of CSA and its events on campus
