About

The Princeton Men's Club Soccer Team (PMCS) is an officially recognized Princeton club sport designed for players who are not playing for the Princeton varsity soccer team but have played at a high level in the past and are looking for an opportunity to continue doing so in college. Any enrolled Princeton student (undergraduate or graduate) is encouraged to tryout for the team during the annual tryouts held in the fall (see tryouts tab).

Being on the Team: During the semester, we practice three times a week, often at night to avoid conflicts with classes. Practice attendance and performance are both expected and determinant of playing time in competitive matches. We compete in Region 1: New Jersey Division of the NIRSA soccer league. Our games are usually on Saturdays and are a combination of home and away games (see the schedule tab). We have social events on Saturday nights to (hopefully) celebrate our results and culminate a week of hard work. In the Spring, we compete at the Annual Ivy League Tournament against the other seven Ivy League schools.

The Practice Squad: The practice squad is a non-competitive option the club offers for players who don't qualify for the team, or don't have time for the full commitment. There are no cuts for this team. The practice squad meets once a week for pickup games using the club's equipment and facilities. Top-performing practice squad players have been called up to the competitive squad in the past, and will have an advantage over their classmates at tryouts in the following years.
