"Sentiero Ettore Castiglioni" via ferrata

The long and rugged Catena d'Ambiez, which stretches South from the Cima Tosa forming the western flank of the Valle d'Ampbiez, seems to preclude any possibility of a direct link between the Agostini and XII Apostoli Mountain-Hut, situated on the opposite side. But the specially equipped "Sentiero E. Castiglioni", traversing the Boccetta dei Due Denti, satisfies this need and enables mountaineers therefore to avoid the traverse by way of the Bocca d'Ambiez. The path, however, is a very hazardous route requiring strong nerves, involving the ascent of smooth and very exposed rock-faces by means of long metal ladders (at least 10). ladder-lovers will certainly love this path!

Catena d'Ambiez

the beggining of the path has three ladders

the second ladder

the third ladder

looking down from the top of the third ladder

this is probably the fifth ladder

can you identify this wood bridge in the second picture

just cross the wood bridge

the path on the other side does not provide much difficulties (except when there is snow) and the path leads to the XII Apostoli Hut under the peak of same name (12 monks)
