At LC, we treat apocryphal books in the same manner as we do other sacred works. This similar treatment includes the application of subdivisions, as defined in the Subject Cataloging Manual, H 1188.
If the work consists of text of an apocryphal book, the descriptive access point is provided (main or added entry depending on the presentation of the chief source), but no subject heading is assigned.
As Yossi suggested, only if the work contains commentary or other criticism do we assign a subject access point for the specific book (or group of books), further subdivided by the appropriate subdivision from SCM H1188.
