Class Notes - December 1, 1999
Class notes features:
These fellows in the Hawaii Club of 1957 look like they know how to stave
off a New Jersey winter. Hawaii was still a U.S. Territory (it would not
become a state for another two years), and authentic Hawaiian shirts were
unobtainable outside the Islands, so these Princetonians are wearing them
deliberately and with pride. Member Charles Pearson '59 recalls the group
as "a purely social club for all the kids from Hawaii-with its own
culture. We would get together and 'talk stories,' as they say at home."
