Chapter 2
Tenel Ka, Jacen, Jaina, and Lowie, all stood looking up with awe as Han
Solo skillfully piloted The Millennium Falcon. They saw it land
softly and waited for the bottom hatch to open. With a loud hiss
the hatch slid open and out walked Han, and Chewbacca.
DAD! Both of the twins yelled simultaneously as they ran to greet
their father.
Lowbacca gave out a large growl as he too ran to greet the
visitors.
Tenel Ka stood nervous. She was grinding her right foot into the
ground with the heel of the shoe. She had met Han before, but she
had both arms then and she wondered what the reaction of the twins
father would be. Under no circumstances would she stand for pity.
Well how are you doing Miss Tenel Ka? Asked Han bowing as he said
it. Chewbacca also bowed and then picked up Tenel Ka playfully,
letting out loud barks as he spun her around.
Chewbacca!!! Put me down!!! Yelled Tenel Ka. Jaina looked at
Jacen questioningly. A few weeks ago Tenel Ka would have reacted
with lightning speed, whipped out a dagger and that would have been
the end of it. Now though, it seemed as if Tenel Ka had begun to
take life less seriously. Jaina figured that when the accident
happened she realized that if she did not stop being so serious all
of the time, she would waste her entire life.
OOOKAAAYYYY, Chewie put her down! Trying to hold in the laughter.
Han had never once see the girl even change the expression on her
face, let alone scream or SMILE!
They all walked slowly aboard the Modified Correllian Cruiser.
Chewie and Han went straight to the cockpit and began the preflight
checks. The kids went into the passenger area and strapped
themselves in. Jaina sat next to Lowie discussing the changes her
father had made in the ship's computer system. Jaina pushed back
her long straight brown hair, and wiped off the left over grease on
her face. The grease was from Lowies T23 Skyhopper, a vehicle that
the two had been working on before The Falcon had arrived. Jaina
was just like her father, a mechanical wizz. She was always taking
thing apart and seeing how they worked. Lowie was not great with
mechanics, but he was the best one at the academy when it came to
computers.
Jacen strapped himself in next to Tenel Ka. They both sat next to
the holographic game board.
Wanna play? Jacen asked quietly.
This is a fact Said Tenel Ka, even softer than Jacen had.
Han walked past the couple and glanced at the two talking. He kept
walking but smiled and shook his head. Amateur. He mumbled under his
breath.
