The Structure of Solids

· Crystal growth from a polymer melt starts in many locations and the crystal structures grow together until solidification is complete.
· The macromolecules form lamella which grow from the nucleus and branch to give Spherulites.
· The development of a spherulite and its molecular sub-structure are illustrated.
