African American Women in the Women's Christian Temperance Union, 1880-1900
This document project is part of the Women and Social Movements website produced by the Center for the Historical Study of Women and Gender at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Directed by Kathryn Kish Sklar and Thomas Dublin, the project presents a number of documents by Sarah J. Early, Frances E. W. Harper, Amanda Berry Smith, Lucy Thurman, and others, along with an introduction by Thomas Dublin.

Famous Trials: The Amistad Trials
Created by Douglas Linder, Professor of Law at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, this site contains documents, newspaper accounts, images, timelines, interpretive essays, and court documents for 35 trials, including the 1839-1840 trials of the Amistad captives.

Historic American Sheet Music
Part of Duke University's Digital Scriptorium, this collection contains digital images of more than 3,000 pieces of sheet music published between 1850 and 1920. The collection includes many spirituals composed or arranged by Harry T. Burleigh (1866-1949) and R. Nathaniel Dett (1882-1943).

"Now What a Time": Blues, Gospel, and the Fort Valley Music Festivals, 1938-1943
Part of the American Memory collections at the Library of Congress, this online project contains one hundred recordings in MP3 format of songs recorded by John Wesley Work III, Willis Laurence James, and Lewis Jones at the folk festival at Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, Georgia. The recording project was sponsored by the Library of Congress's Archive of American Folk Song.

Founded by Rev. James Cleveland in 1968, this organization hosts an annual convention of its 150 chapters in order to promote Gospel Music.

Journal of the Moorish Paradigm
"Dedicated to Moorish science, history and civilization." One issue is available free online and access to additional issues requires a subscription. Other parts of the site feature Moorish news and events and pamphlets and other merchandise for sale.
