Independent Project

As an essential component of this laboratory, you will select a thermodynamics project that interests you, design an experiment to provide the needed data, analyze the data and write a report on the project. The project may be carried out by a group of people.

Each group member is to prepare an individual report.

The selected project should have a strong thermodynamic component and relate to an interesting engineering area. You may wish to play the role of a consultant engaged in evaluating the thermodynamic aspects of the problem.

Discuss possible projects with the laboratory staff and keep the experiment to manageable proportions. The quality of the experimental design and the data analysis will be judged in assigning a grade to this project. To emphasize its importance in the laboratory sequence, the project will carry three times the credit of the previous projects.
