COMBUSTION: STOICHIOMETRY AND
FLAME TEMPERATURE
Abstract
The
combustion of a fuel may take place under conditions in which
the fuel is pre-mixed with the oxidizer or those in which the oxidizer and
the fuel mix by diffusion at the time of combustion. These different experimental
conditions result in different flame structures. Measurements are to
be made to determine the flame temperature, the temperature distribution, and
flame structure for both pre-mixed and diffusion flames as a function of the
fuel /air ratio, flow rate, and inert diluent content.
