The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has named Prof. Ilhan Aksay as a Fellow of the AAAS, an honor bestowed for distinguished work in advancing science or its applications.

Prof. Aksay, a Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, was recognized for "contributions to the fundamentals of materials processing and transfer of new technologies to industry."

The AAAS is the world's largest general scientific society and the publisher of the journal Science.
