Wearable antenna technology shown at AUSA 2015

John Lettow, president of Vorbeck Materials Corp., and Eric Spackey, CEO of Bluewater Defense, showed new wearable antenna technology that can be sewn into uniforms and backpacks during the 2015 AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Working with the research group of Prof. Ilhan Aksay, Vorbeck has developed a printed, graphene-based 4G LTE antenna that is flexible and can be encapsulated between layers of fabric. The antenna significantly extends the range of voice and data transmission and reception for the wearer's communication devices.

In the accompanying video from DefenseNews, Dr. Lettow and Mr. Spackey discuss the development and applications of this new technology.
